Sylvain Pasquet, OZCAR’s new postdoctoral fellow

Sylvain Pasquet, OZCAR’s postdoctorate fellow

Sylvain Pasquet has been hired by OZCAR last February for a post-doc that should facilitate collaborations between the numerous OZCAR observatories and the equipment facility CRITEX. Sylvain comes back from a 2-year post-doc in the US where he worked, within the CZO program and in Yellowstone, on characterizing the architecture of the critical zone and its hydrodynamic properties using geophysical methods (seismics in particular). Sylvain is also familiar with the CRITEX program since he was an active part of the development of the seismic work package (WP6.1) during his Ph.D. at Université Pierre et Marie Curie (2011-2015). The OZCAR meeting in Fréjus and the CRITEX internal call for proposals provided a great opportunity for him to meet the different stakeholders of the OZCAR network and get to know better the different observatories and their specificity. These discussions already led to several projects aimed at imaging and monitoring the CZ structure in some of these sites (Strengbach, Ploemeur-Guidel, LSBB,…). Feel free to contact him to bring him to your site as well (pasquet@ipgp.fr).
